Thais Sobreira is a New York-based actress born in Rio de Janeiro.
Fluent in English, Portuguese, French and Russian, she is a former ballet dancer trained at the prestigious Saint Petersburg Conservatory Rimsky-Korsakov under the guidance of Russian classical ballet legend Gabriela Komlieva.
Most recently she starred in Her Song, a film produced by Oscar-winning director James Ivory, written and directed by John M. Keller, where she was part of a distinguished cast, including actors such as Kalki Koechlin, Zach Grenier, Eléa Clair, and Marie-Christine Adam. The film is set to open the Cinequest Film & Creativity Festival 2026 in San Jose, California, as announced in Variety.
In 2025, in New York, she joined the cast of the short play festival presented by Theatre Breaking Through Barriers, a company founded in 1979 and an Off-Broadway reference for its pioneering work in promoting the inclusion of artists with disabilities in collaboration with artists without disabilities.

Thais is committed to humanitarian work; she is a member of the advisory board of Presidio Dance Theatre in San Francisco, a highly acclaimed, multi-generational dance company that tours nationally and internationally, supporting humanitarian causes. She has also volunteered her time, performing with the company, providing dance seminars, and supporting its community outreach and educational programs.
